Yes I know that Obama wont actually read this post, I don’t care either way.
President Obama,
Although I have zero respect for you, I do respect the office you hold so I will make an attempt at keeping my temper in check.
My husband and I have worked our entire lives, everyday, most times 2 jobs at a time. We don’t ask for hand outs we make our own way in life. We have lived believing that if you can’t afford it, you don’t buy it until you can. It has served us well, until now.
Here we are at retirement age and we find that all of our hard work was for naught, thanks in great part to you. Our retirement package should have been set in stone. With a few strokes of the pen you made sure it wasn’t. So now that 50% of our retirement is gone and I’m sick, which by the way is none of your business, we even had to use our retirement savings. They are gone too. Poof! Get it?
Now I know this is not something that will ever concern you or yours but it concerns me and mine greatly. At a time when we should finely be able to relax and enjoy our golden years we find ourselves struggling just to pay the utility bills. Get it?
While you are standing on your soapbox, with your teleprompters (come on, really?!) spouting the nonsense that you are so famous for, perhaps you should know that there are real people out here with real problems. Get it yet?
When I was very young I too believed in the”American Dream”. Then I grew up. I soon realized that ‘the dream’ only works in 2 ways, 1- If you’re born into money. 2- If you’re born in any Country OTHER than America, in which case the “American Dream” is handed to you at the border.
Since neither one of those choices apply to us, we worked. Yep, over 40 years of getting up at 3 or 4 AM work 9-16 hours a day. Go to bed, repeat. That’s how AMERICANS do it. I don’t know the percentage, nor do I care, of the people that were born into money. I do know that I don’t know any of them so they apparently don’t live near me.
Now I am certainly not asking you to write me a check because it’s been a rough life. I am however going to tell you what I think of all the “bailouts” you allow.
I personally think you are an arrogant idiot that doesn’t get it. Why in hell would you not only bailout the big companies, but you continue to throw more good money after bad.
By God if the “big” companies can’t pay their damn bills, let them fold! One thing I know for sure, there’s always someone standing right behind you that can do your job as good as, or better than, you. Let them suffer the
consequences of running their business poorly. In no time at all another company will come along to replace them. I don’t know where you get your logic sir but let me tell you this clearly, Your logic stinks!
Let’s take for example a mom and pop place called Ginos. Let’s say Gino over extends by expanding the building. Now he can’t pay his bills because he’s over his head. Should Gino call you for a bailout or should he accept that adding onto the building was a bad move? And let’s say, just for the sake of argument, that Gino did call you. What would you tell him? I know the answer to that. And so do you.
People celebrated when you were elected, why? Well because finally a black person was in the highest office in the land. Now I admit, normally that would be big news. It goes deeper than that. I don’t care what color my President is. He could be purple for all I care. What I do care about is his intelligence and his understanding of politics. It is my personal opinion sir, that you have neither.
Why is it that every speech you give sends a different message? How does that work? And why do you let one group of people think you’re on their side and then change direction when they’re out of site? Is it a lack of backbone, intelligence, or do you just flat out enjoy acting the fool?
I actually believed that any new President would be better for America than George W. I was wrong. You have been in office 1 year, that’s ONE YEAR. It sure seems longer from my view point. Even George W could not have caused this much B. S. in ONE year! He at least had ‘people’ to cover for him in the beginning. Even your ‘people’ seem confused about what you’re agenda is.
Today is 01/25/20. Before Christmas OVER ONE MONTH AGO Arrow Trucking closed their doors, cut off the fuel card and left HUNDREDS of truckers stranded all over America. We, American working class citizens, took care to see that they were taken care of while you sun tanned in Hawaii. One month later and you STILL have not so much as mentioned the trucking fiasco. That alone tells me all I care to know about your “integrity” or lack thereof. You cannot stand on your pulpit and preach about caring for our citizens when you did absolutely nothing. Is it because the truckers don’t go to black tie affairs to whip out their checkbook for your campaigns? Of course they don’t. They are busy working their ass of to support their families. They are busy trying to stay afloat even while your team of FMCSA and DOT idiots screw them. Are you aware, don’t answer that I know you are, that these truckers sleep in FREEZING cold trucks because YOU allow the “no idle” B.S. I hope you sleep well at night. Of course you have nothing to worry your mind. You leave that up to the working man.
So back to me. Thanks to all of the B.S that you have created in the last year, my husband had to get a job to supplement his “retirement”. He did that. A 65 year old man back to work, thanks idiot. So, we’re going along doing what we have to do to survive until yesterday then.. BAM… ANOTHER rug pulled out from under our feet. His employer had to fire 11,200 people! Now here we sit. I will most likely get kicked out of my treatments because of this. And don’t hand me your B.S line about your wonderful “healthcare” bill because I’ll tell you where you can stick that damn thing too.
There was a time that I was sad that God never gave us children. Now I’m thankful for that! If we had children I would be worried sick about their future in this God forsaken Country. I see it going into the toilet at the speed of light and you are doing your very best to speed it up even more.
So you just go ahead and bask in the glory of being the first. It won’t take much more on your part to get the title of another first, THE FIRST, WORST, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. I think they’re making that trophy even as we speak. You can put it on the mantle right next to your Nobel prize that you won for doing nothing.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to figure out a way to buy food, buy meds, and pay my gas bill.
Do you get it yet?
Go ahead and send your boogie men after me for speaking my mind, I no longer care. Thanks to you we have nothing left. It won’t be long before we’ll have to walk away from a house we’ve owned for decades. Send in the clowns.
GOT IT?!
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a spring chicken. I also admit that each generation changes how they do things, I don’t have a problem with change. What I do not understand is all the hate in the world. Including America.
Now I have been known to speak my piece on occasion and I always will. If I think something/somebody is doing wrong I will freely give my opinion and not always quietly.
I have only been online approx. 4 yrs. Been on Twitter maybe 4 months? The hate I see spewed on a daily/hourly basis boggles my mind.
Is it that when we’re online we feel safe, incognito? I really don’t think that’s it. It seems to go further than that. It’s in the streets, face to face also. When I was growing up, if you had a beef with someone it was on! We’d call all our friends (from home, no cells back then) and we’d all meet on a certain street at a certain time and the fight would begin. I’m talking hand to hand fights, no weapons. It was great fun and nobody ever really got hurt. After the fight, no matter the outcome, we’d shake hands and it was over. Now if someone has a bone to pick they whip out a pistol and shoot the person.
I see the same kind of craziness on Twitter. Take the issue with Rush Limbaugh. He went to the hospital and people were online celebrating and wishing for news of his death. Believe me, I am not supporting Limbaugh, I’m only using him as an example.
No matter who I have an issue with, it’s just that, an issue. I would never celebrate the death of anyone for any reason. I do not agree with the way Washington D.C is running. That certainly does not mean I wish death on them.
Same goes for out efforts to help the Arrow drivers. The only thing we wanted to do was see to it that they were safe and get their immediate needs met. Instead of spending all of our time on that we have to, on a daily basis, put up with naysayers. groups of people that are in it to get their names and companies in the headlines.
These people want to spew forth lies and try to drag us into their mud-hole to fight. I will not be distracted from the task at hand.
What’s wrong with just doing the right thing? Why is recognition so important? The goal is to get everyone taken care of and then return to our lives, which by the way we do have.
All of this, I did you didn’t, I will you wont, me me me stuff needs to stop! If I have a driver that needs something and you can get it for him, by all means, do it. You don’t ever have to mention my name. I do not care. I care only that the needs were met.
If, however, you put yourself out there on a website and claim to be something that is not true, I will bring it out in the open. Perhaps I don’t have the time today but tomorrow, when business is taken care of I will bring it out. We have laws in this Country, we don’t have to agree with the laws but if they are on the books then we all must follow them.
When I was trying to get my Coach on the road I ran into several rules/laws that I thought were crazy. That didn’t mean I could skip them. I went through the steps that were required of me.
These days the first thing out of someones mouth is, I’ll sue you! And they do. The courts are over flowing with these piddly lawsuits because someone got their feelings hurt and want to be compensated for it. Instead of acting like an adult and handling your business you run to a Judge and cry on his shoulder. Why do you think everything is so expensive? Who do you think pays for this in the end? Think people, think.
I guess my point is this, if you have a different opinion than somebody else just except it and move on. I think as adults we can agree to disagree. If we all thought the same way what a boring life that would be!
Stop hating, threatening, backstabbing, suing, badmouthing. Life is short. If you don’t believe that go spend one hour on a cancer ward. Watch people struggle to hold on for just one more day. Go to the NICU unit. Watch the babies struggle with their entire might just to take a breath.
At some point we will all be living our last day, taking our last breath. What do you think will be important to you on that day? Will you be damning the day you didn’t get the recognition you thought you deserved? I think not.
I decided to write this, not to piss people off, although it will, but to tell you my viewpoint.
I see everybody opening their wallets to help Haiti, that’s a wonderful thing. We need to help them. Just as we needed help during 9/11 and Katrina. Not that we got the help we needed but that comes later.
My main gripe at the moment is this, Americans are throwing money to Haiti to help them while at the same time Americans are in desperate need of help right here at home.I know from experience that Americans have a very short memory. Soon Haiti will be pushed to the bottom of the news feed and the same people that are helping them will be closing their wallets. That’s where my problem with the whole “Help” thing comes in.
Since December when Arrow trucking destroyed the lives of some 1400 people there has been a group of us trying to help these truckers. Big promises of help were made. While we were busy trying to locate the missing drivers, people were pledging help in all directions. Problem is, some, not all, of the help never materialized.
What hurts my heart is that as I write this Americans are throwing money to Haiti while we still have truckers that have lost their homes, trucks, have nothing to eat in other words, they have lost everything.
Granted, it wasn’t an earthquake that caused this problem never the less these are Americans that are in desperate need of our help.
These are not lazy people that spend the day on the couch watching TV. They are truck drivers. People that bust their ass everyday to move supplies all over America. They put up with nasty bosses, nasty dock workers, nasty dispatchers nasty FMSCA and DOT workers ect.
They eat, sleep, and sometimes live in that truck. They are treated with disrespect on the road all day, everyday.
When you cut them off on the road because you’re in a hurry to get to Starbucks you are disrespecting them too. When you lay on the horn because you don’t think they’re going quite fast enough for you, you are disrespecting them.
Here’s a newsflash for you, the truckers know how to read a road better than anybody! If he/she see’s the road conditions deteriorating they are going to drive accordingly. That’s how the trucker lives to drive another day. You could learn some driving skills if you watched them instead of persecuting them.
Many have asked why I am so passionate about the truckers. I will answer although I think it’s a silly question.
I owned a 40′ MCI Coach. I fought like the dickens to get it road legal. Dealing with DOT and FMCSA is not a fun thing to do. They go to great lengths to make things difficult on you. I even had FMCSA in Lansing tell me when I asked why everyone else was getting their inspection done in 2 weeks and I was still waiting after 2 months, QUOTE “We’re not all that keen on woman being in this industry, deal with it”. Again, that’s a story for another time.
After I finally got through the maze and had my 54 passenger Coach on the road I ran into a lot of truckers out there. If you drive for a living you are going to have break downs, it comes with the territory. I have driven professionally my entire life, this was the first time the coach belonged to me so I didn’t have a garage to call and tell them to come and get me.
I can’t tell you how many times a trucker has helped me out. Most of the time without being asked. Truckers are a different bird. You respect them, they respect you. Problem in America is that most people don’t even try to show respect to a trucker. Let’s look at what the trucker does for us on a daily basis.
Take a look around you, what do you see that wasn’t made available to you because a trucker brought it in? Food in the kitchen, Trucker. Toiletries, clothes, furniture. If you’re eyes can see it a trucker had it on a truck at some point.
Look at the lovely vase you have sitting there. Oh, I see, you say that came in on a boat from China. Well, how did it get to the boat? How did it get from the boat to you? A Trucker!
All I’m saying is America runs on Truckers. We need to acknowledge that and give them the respect they deserve. Now, you will never hear a trucker say he wants you to respect him/her. They’re not like that. They just quietly go about their business. Meanwhile, their bodies are in great pain from spending so much time bouncing around in that truck. When I see a trucker I know that he/she is in pain, they don’t have to say a word but I know the pain is awful. That wont stop them from climbing back into that seat and getting the diapers delivered on time so you can buy them when you wake up from your nice comfy bed.
Anyway, back to helping. Please, do not put your wallet away when the news of Haiti dies down. Americans need you to continue helping.
3.5 million people, 39% of them children, currently experience homelessness every year. 60% of all new homeless cases are single mothers with children.
Yes, that’s fact, I looked it up and so should you. Don’t take my word for anything. You should always do your own research.
What about all the homeless, hungry children in America? Who’s helping them? I’ll tell you. There are people out there that make it their duty to help these people. They need our help too. In America children should not be going to sleep hungry! This is wrong.
We cannot depend on our President to do anything about the problem so we must help. Don’t worry, I’m not going to go off on how inferior I think Washington is, although I do.
This rant is not political. It is a cry for help. Ask yourself this question; How many paychecks are you away from being homeless? Scary thought isn’t it. They say for most, it’s 2 paychecks. And you know what, I’ll always be here fighting and begging for help for you also.
I don’t know how long I have left, none of us do. I do know that if there’s air in my lungs I will be screaming for help for those who need it, no matter who that is.
Please, I am begging you, do not put away your wallet. Help us help the truckers. Or, find a good charity that helps the homeless and hungry. They are out there.
Everyday I watch @hardlynormal on twitter, it’s inspiring but also heartbreaking to see the work he does everyday to help homeless people.
Take a look on Facebook at Arrow Trucking Volunteer Efforts. Read for yourself how many people are hurting because the idiot owner of Arrow decided to live lavishly and steal from the truckers. That’s right, I said steal. The problems have only just begun for these truckers. Arrow wasn’t paying child support, taxes, 401K’s. This will be a problem for a very long time.
Please, help these people. I will end for today. Tomorrow I will probably have more to say but it will always lead back to this… Americans need to help Americans too.
There were idiot “pretend” charities that came in like they were the Calvary collected money from well meaning people then they vanished along with the money. Now we are the ones scrambling to find $ to actually help these truckers. I have faith that God will get them in the end, unfortunately that doesn’t help the truckers now. Sad!
UPDATE:
DONATE TO THE TRUCKERS
If you email me I will put you in touch with the verified truckers that are in need.
Some of them need help paying phone bill, without phone they can’t receive calls from prospective employers. Some have had their utilities turned off. Some have no place to live. The list goes on & on.
